Ellis Peters

Ellis Peters (cuyo verdadero nombre es Edith Mary Pargeter) nació en Shropshire, Inglaterra, en 1913. Aunque algunas de sus obras y novelas alcanzaron difusión, como la trilogía histórica The Heaven Tree, fue la serie de novelas detectivescas ambientada en la Inglaterra de mediados del siglo XII -con el monje fray Cadfael como protagonista- la que le permitió alcanzar fama mundial desde 1942, año en que apareció la primera novela de la serie, Un dulce sabor a muerte. En 1994 le fue concedida la Orden del Imperio Británico. Falleció en 1995.

Recuerdo que hace años me enganché a los libros de Fray Cadfael . Eran una mezcla que a mí me encanta: Edad Media, misterio y un poquito romanticones , aunque la verdad es que cuando llevabas unos cuantos se hacían un poco repetitivos...
