Y me olvidaba las fechas de mi premio literario favorito: International Booker prize, porque ahí se reconoce también el trabajo del que translater

El Booker internacional es de los premios a los que me gusta estar atenta también, pues saco muchas futuras lecturas de la longlist. No estoy muy al día de lo que se oye que va a estar nominado, pero este año igual la novela de Yu Miri, The end of august podría estar nominada. O bueno, quizás es que yo tengo muchas ganas de leerla y ya

Yppe yo creo que La de Yu Miri tiene muchas papeletas, ya ha entrado en la long-list de Republic concious.


Y paso a dejar la lista de los libros de la long-list de los Women prize non-fiction que se conceden por primera vez este año ya que hasta ahora eran sólo para fiction books

Reconozco que hace algunos años que no estoy atento al Booker international, pero fue una de las mejores ideas que han tenido.
Ha pasado de ser un premio bianual a la carrera de un autor, que desde luego más allá determinados círculos tenía una exposición limitada, al premio al autor traducido (y al traductor) y por tanto un premio anual a la novela.
Yo creo que todos los booktubers que cubrían el Booker también cubren el Booker international y a muchos autores les ha dado proyección.
El hecho de que autores como Tokarczuk o Jon Fosse fueran premiados con el Booker international (o nominados) antes de llevarse el Nobel también ha ayudado a la proyección del premio

Este año no he visto ningún video de predicciones así que solo me suenan tres, el de Anne Enright (que es la única autora de la lista que he leído), Soldier sailor de Claire Kilroy (que no tengo ni idea de qué va pero he oído citarlo unas cuantas veces) y Western Lane de Chetna Maroo (porque fue finalista del Booker).

De todos modos el Women's prize suele ir por derroteros bastante diferentes a otros premios (y supongo que este año todavía más después de que el año pasado ganara Demon Copperhead)

Esos 3 sonaban para los Women Prize junto con Ordinary failings, Enter ghosts, que era junto a Soldier sailor uno de los libros que iba a estar en la long-list y Nightbloom que también muchos apostaban por él

The Booker Prize long-list

Han nominado Nada es verdad de Verónica Raimo

Y últimamente veo a Adrei Kurkov nominado a un montón de premios

Me gusta ver en esa lista al libro de Hwang Sok-yong, al que le tengo muchas ganas desde que salió.
El de Kadaré no me lo esperaba, porque sus últimos libros no estan teniendo la relevancia de los anteriores, pero siendo uno de mis escritores vivos favoritos pues me alegro.

El único que he leído de la lista es el de Gabriela Wiener (en castella es Huaco retrato y no me gustó demasiado.

Hay más premios que libros buenos.

Premios hay tropecientos. Algunos son bastante específicos (desde novelas de debut a novelas de ficción política) lo que está muy bien porque en muchos casos se les da visibilidad a novelas que no la tendrían en premios más generalistas.

Eso sí, los premios anglosajones y la mayoría de los europeos no son como los españoles, son a novela publicada. Vamos, que desde el mismo momento de la longlist puedes ponerte a despotricar si crees que los nominados no tienen la calidad necesaria.
Aquí todo es más oscurantista. Lo que no quita para que incluso los más prestigiosos tengan lo suyo, no hay año sin polémica en el Booker (hasta hay una novela de Edward St Aubyn que hace mofa del asunto)
