He leído alguna novela en inglés, pero se me hace muy pesado y no cojo todos los giros. Así que a esperar a que traduzcan al ganador por lo menos, que supongo que será Stross.

Por ahí andan apostando si los seguidores de LRdT aplastarán con sus votos a los otros tres de Orbit, ya que de estos últimos solo hay extractos y hay gente que posiblemente les penalice por ello. Scalzi ya ha dicho que sus favoritos son esos tres, aunque reconoce que Leckie lo lleva mas chungo porque es menos conocida que los otros.

Yo de Stross he leído Cielo de Singularidad, Amanecer de hierro y La casa de cristal y ninguno me convenció del todo. Tengo pendiente Accelerando, pero me da que va a ser uno de mis autores "malditos". Eso no quita en que, para mi, junto con Sanderson (que no lo he leído, es de fantasía ) sea el favorito.

Vaya con la desconocida Ann Leckie, ha arrasado ganando el Hugo, Nébula, Premio BSFA , Arthur C. Clarke Award y Premio Locus. Habrá que estar atento a su trilogía.

Lo bueno es que la gente que ha votado la ha reconocido a pesar de la decisión de Hachette, cuando había gente que decía que iba a haber votación masiva a La rueda del tiempo.

Y es que mucha gente pagó por el pack, pero luego no votó, aunque no sé si en mayor o menor porcentaje que otros años.

Un grupo de escritores conservadores no estaban muy contentos con los premios del año pasado (donde se ha visto que se premien a mujeres y minorías en unos premios de cifi) y han hecho campaña para que salgan nominados sus candidatos. Y lo han hecho con mucho éxito además.
Por lo visto no ha habido nada ilegal pero sí muy poco ético, y hay quien habla de que la mayoría van a quedar desiertos.

Son como niños...

Al final, los premios, premios son, y no tienen por qué marcar la calidad de un libro. El daño creo que será más bien al conjunto de la ciencia ficción, que parecía estar a salvo de las marejadas comerciales de la novela tradicional.

Jopé, el artículo es de la rama dura, con tanta abreviatura . Lo he leído en diagonal y me ha sorprendido encontrar algún nombre que conozco en la lista del lobby "cachorros": John Scalzi, que si bien no escribe novelas grandiosas sí tienen cierta gracia, y a John C. Wright, que me cautivó con La edad de oro. De este último, y solo habiendo leído esa trilogía, nunca hubiera dicho que es homófobo, pero también es que soy algo cándido. Ahora que, si lo que comentan de su editorial -Vox Day- es cierto... puf... negar el sufragio femenino... decir que los africanos, indios y aztecas (!) infestan américa... denigrar a otros escritores por el color de su piel... es triste que esos comportamientos encuentren altavoz en el mundo civilizado...
